Planning a successful reunion begins with strong leadership, thoughtful planning, and active engagement. Whether you're serving as a Class Agent, reunion committee member, or class officer, the Office of Alumni Affairs & Engagement is here to support you every step of the way.

Our goal is to help reunion classes reconnect classmates, celebrate shared memories, and strengthen the legacy of SC State through engagement and philanthropy

Five Steps to Reunion Success

  1. Build Your Reunion Team
    Recruit a small committee of classmates who are willing to help with planning, outreach, and engagement.
  2. Establish Your Goals
    Determine what success looks like for your class, including attendance, participation, class giving, and reunion activities.
  3. Connect with Alumni Affairs & Engagement
    Schedule an introductory planning meeting to review timelines, resources, and available support.
  4. Develop an Outreach Plan
    Begin reconnecting with classmates through email, phone calls, social media, and personal outreach.
  5. Stay Engaged
    Meet regularly, track progress, celebrate milestones, and keep classmates excited throughout the reunion cycle.

A phone call or personal message from a classmate is often the most effective way to encourage attendance.

Focus on opportunities for classmates to reconnect, celebrate accomplishments, and create new memories together.

Include Giving in the Conversation
Reunion giving is an opportunity to strengthen SC State while honoring your class legacy.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should planning begin?
Ideally, reunion committees should begin planning 12–18 months before Reunion Weekend.

How many committee members should we have?
Most reunion committees consist of four to six volunteers.

Who establishes reunion registration fees?
The Office of Alumni Affairs and Engagement establish registration fees based on the overall Reunion Weekend experience and planned activities.

Can classes host their own events?
Yes. Classes may organize additional gatherings and activities in coordination with Alumni Affairs and Engagement.

How do we obtain class giving reports?
Class Agents receive Class Giving Reports throughout the reunion planning cycle to help monitor fundraising progress, donor participation, and overall progress toward their class giving goals. Reports are distributed according to the following schedule:

  • July 15, 2026
  • October 15, 2026
  • December 15, 2026
  • January 15, 2027
  • February 15, 2027
  • March 15, 2027
  • April 15, 2027

Class Giving Reports are provided to Class Agents only. If you need an updated report between the scheduled distribution dates, please submit your request to:
